What Virginia's funeral habits mean for small pets
About 55.6%[1] of people in Virginia are cremated, a share that has been rising for years. Small-pet aftercare has moved the same way, but more slowly: many families still bury hamsters and rats at home, and cremation is chosen mostly by renters, city dwellers and people who expect to move.
