How families in Atlanta handle a small pet's death

Atlanta calls itself a city in a forest, and many houses in Kirkwood, East Lake or Decatur sit on wooded lots, while thousands of people now live in apartments along the BeltLine. Georgia's dense red clay makes digging a proper grave slow and heavy work, and roots get in the way. The City of Atlanta's solid-waste service will remove a dead animal placed at the curb or found in a public right-of-way, and it handles animals on private property differently. If you want your pet's ashes, you will need a private provider, usually booked directly or through your vet.
