In Royal Veterinary College data on pet hamsters it topped the list of named causes of death, at 7.88%[8] of deaths. It can spread through shared bedding and hands, so cremation is the safer aftercare, and the cage needs a deep clean before any new hamster moves in.
Is water cremation (aquamation) available for small pets near Hughes Springs?
Some pet providers offer aquamation, which uses water and alkali instead of flame. Availability is patchy, and for a pet this small the amount returned is still very small.
