Rules worth knowing before you dig in Indiana

Can I bury a hamster or rat at home in Indiana?
Usually, if you own the land. Bury deep, wrapped in something biodegradable, away from water, with a stone on top so animals can't dig. Renters should ask the landlord or use a deep planter. City rules, homeowner associations and leases can be stricter than the general rules.
